The 4th Asia Electronics Forum in Cebu, Philippines
The 4th Asia Electronics Forum (AEF) was held in Cebu, Philippines in July 19, 2007, and was hosted by the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry in the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI). Twenty (20) delegates from nine Asian economies participated in the meeting. The meeting was highlighted by a review and discussion of the Joint Declarations of the previous three (3) AEFs, namely Hong Kong (2004), Qingdao (2005), and Tokyo (2006), with the objective of identifying specific programs to pursue agreed priority focus area/s. During the meetings, the members of the AEF agreed the following porgrams and action items to support priority declarations identified. The followings are the Consolidation of Declarations
GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS
To enhance the global competitiveness of electronics industry organization in Asia by promoting the best known methods and global practices in high-technology manufacturing.
ADVOCACY
To advocate policy issues and concerns affecting the industry by enhancing the status and influence of the electronics industry and its organizations in Asia to the government, society and within the industry.
INFORMATION
To be a definitive source of industry information by fostering closer economic ties, establishing channels of communications and promoting more information exchange.
NETWORKING
To encourage networking among different electronics industry associations by organizing and participating in various business and industry meetings, conferences, fellowships, and events.
We will come to a general report in October and we will deliver it to members.
The Asia Electronics Forum (AEF) is a voluntary gathering of leaders of electronics industries associations in Asia. AEF meets annually to discuss major topics of common interests to the various associations, exchange information on services and data and strengthen relations between associations for the benefits and services of our industries
